In can be a very good idea to have your pool professional opened and closed due to the risks that come with not getting everything started up right or closed down for the winter correctly, especially when it comes to things freezing. We service Grand Rapids, Muskegon, Holland, Lansing, Byron Center, Caledonia and most of West Michigan for opens and closes. Details of these services are listed below! We also have standard service calls of $150 which includes first 30 minutes of tech time for diagnosis.
2025 Pool Opening / Mini Opening Options & Rates
2025 Inground Pool Opening: Includes:
- Cover removal
- 30 Minutes of vacuuming/scrub/skimming (some pools will need 2-3 hours to be clean) and you can pay extra if you give us advance notice you want it fully vacuumed
- Rinsing winter cover off and rinse concrete where cover was – first 18-24 inches from water. We can pressure wash with cleaner your entire pool deck concrete for an additional fee. Typicaly We can quote pressure washing (with cleaner) your entire concrete pool deck while we are out there. Must be discussed in in ADVANCE. This is $20 for every 50 sq ft we are doing. We can give you the square footage if you don’t know once we arrive onsite. And we will round to the closet 50 sq ft when we bill you and it will be added right to your pool opening bill in Pool Brain
- Pump and filter hook up / start up
- Heater hook up and start
- Heater hook up and start
- Reinstall/Restarting – cleaning heads, cleaning zone value, deck jets, waterfalls, if applicable
- Adding start-up chemicals (first chemicals included) and/or Salt
- Re-installing deck railings and ladders
- NOTE: Pool must be filled before arrival. If we have to fill, charges will be $99/hr charged in 15 minute increments until filled so we can proceed. Or it is billed at $150 for the first call and discounted to $99+the opening cost to return once filled by you
- Extra Costs: If we need to pump water off your cover. Billed T&M in 15 minute increments at $99/hr while waiting
Cost – $429-$499 depending on one way distance from our store. $429 within 30 one way miles, $459 for within 31-64 one way miles, and $499 for within 65-99 one way miles from our location. If you are 100+ miles one way, add $2.33/mile for the one way mileage onto the $499, (ie, if you are 125 miles, add $2.33×26 = $60.58 so your total becomes $559.58).
2025 Mini-Open
- Everything from above but no cover removal/rinse off and no 30 minutes of Basic Skim, Scrub, Vacuum
Cost – $329-$399 depending on distance from our store. $329 within 30 one way miles, $359 for within 31-64 one way miles and $399 for within 65-99 miles one way from our location. If you are 100+ miles one way, add $2.33/mile for the one way mileage onto the $399, (ie, if you are 125 miles, add $2.33×26 = $60.58 so your total becomes $459.58).
2025 Pool Closing/Winterization Options & Rates
2025 Inground Pool Closings/Winterization Includes:
- Blowing out all the lines
- Shutting down and blowing out your Pump
- Shutting down and blowing out your Heater
- Covering the surface with your safety cover, tarp/tubes (filling tubes)
- Install Duck Plugs (if Provided). If you do NOT have Duck Plugs, you need to ensure the water lever is lowered BELOW the jet lines before we arrive
- Add Non-toxic Antifreeze (w/ Duck Plugs ONLY) – cost of Antifreeze is added to invoice. If you do not have duck plugs and want antifreeze – you need to let us know.
- Remove Deck Ladders & Rails
- NOTE: If pool must be lowered due to no duck plugs, we will charge $99/hr until drained to level so we can proceed. Or It will be a $99 return fee once drained
- NOTE: If Skim cleaning, scrubbing or vacuuming is needed before closing, it will be at $99/hr charged T&M in 15 minute increments
- Pool Line Blowout only – $300

- Everything from above but no cover or tarp/tubs are put on. Have the area as clean and clear as possible
